Officer Profiles

 

At the end of every Spring semester, dues-paying members of H.A.L.T. are provided the opportunity to run for one of four offices: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Events Coordinator. Officers come from diverse backgrounds but have one thing in common: They have a vision for H.A.L.T. and wish to advance it toward reaching that vision. Below are the current Officers of H.A.L.T.

Ellie Saltsman
President

Age: 20

Year: Senior

Hometown: Canton, OH

Fun Fact: Saved a girls life on the first day as a lifeguard

Ellie is a highly driven and passionate person. A few of her passions include: human rights, sustainability, and fashion. She is a city-dweller who also loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking and camping. She plans on moving to the East Coast for grad school Fall 2016. Career wise she’d like to do something International Relations/Intelligence related.

Haley Johnson
Treasurer

Fun Fact:

Haley is a very sweet, genuine, and hardworking girl. Her hobbies include: camping, swimming, reading, etc. Her future plans consist of joining the Peace Corp and attending law school after graduation. She is excited to travel, but would like to end up living in Washington, DC.

 

 

 

 

 

Mackenzie DeSpain
Vice President

Age: 21

Year: Senior

Hometown: Campbellsville, KY

Fun Fact: When I was 3, I broke my arm and pulled 3 casts off before they put one on I couldn't break.

Mackenzie is a small-town girl with big dreams. A few of her passions and hobbies include reading anything she can get her hands on and wanting to adopt all the animals possible. After graduating at EKU she plans to attend law school and go wherever the wind takes her.

Joe Jones
Events coordinator

Age: 23

Hometown: Anywhere, Everywhere

Fun Fact: Working on a 5-part book series

Joe is a creative, self-motivated individual who isn't afraid to step up to the plate to get the job done, especially if it means getting dirty in the process. Having been raised as an Army Brat, he is highly adaptable and knows the values of respect, integrity and hard work.

Teresa Spare
Secretary

Hometown: Hebron, KY

Fun Fact:

Teresa is a very energetic and dedicated person. Her hobbies include: skiing, soccer, and any type of water sports. She is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta and is very active in her sorority. Finally, Teresa plans on joining the Air Force after graduation.

 

 

 

 

Annie Heady
Historian

Age: 19

Year: ophomore

Hometown: Louisville, KY

Fun Fact: I have 6 siblings

I was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. I have 2 sisters and 4 brothers that I am incredibly close with. I love spending time with my friends and family most of all. Some of my hobbies include paining, taking pictures and listening to music. One day I'd love to work in customs and border protection. I always knew I wanted to serve my country without having to enlist in the armed forces.
