H.A.L.T. was created in an effort to provide an organization for EKU's Homeland Security students to become closer as professionals and friends. H.A.L.T. strives to provide its membership with activities and events designed to help with team building as well as to give an idea of what all is possible in their future as Homeland Security Professionals. Since it's founding, H.A.L.T. has hosted career panels featuring professionals in various Homeland Security related capacities; guest speakers; been on security tours at places such as Rupp Arena and Keeneland Horse Park; facility tours of the Bluegrass Army Depot and the Kentucky Fusion Center; and much more.
H.A.L.T. also strives to provide a professional yet welcoming and fun environment for its members. Through weekly meetings and social events, H.A.L.T. highly encourages all of its membership to participate and get to know their colleagues and potential future coworkers. All students enrolled in either the Pre-Homeland Security or the Homeland Security Programs are eligible to join H.A.L.T.
Other than the general membership, H.A.L.T. has 5 elected officer positions:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
